Police in San Jose have made 720 citations in response to a sideshow that occurred on Saturday night.
Authorities say the incident occurred at the corner of Monterey and Branham and the police response was “coordinated.” As of Sunday morning, police were still towing cars and making citations. A ghost gun was recovered at the scene and “numerous” vehicles were abandoned by sideshow participants, police said. Authorities also said that a carjacking occurred at the location around the same time as the sideshow.
In addition to the citations, 19 vehicles have been impounded and 82 juvenile contact reports were made.
The Saturday incident follows a similar operation by San Jose police in July where authorities issued 500 citations for sideshow at South 10th St. and Alma Ave.
