Over the weekend, a teenage girl was kidnapped from Alabama and transported across state lines to Florida, where she was beaten, bound, and left under a tree, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities reported that the girl was picked up by a man in Houston County, Alabama, on Friday evening. The male suspect was later identified as 22-year-old Coby Jerome Jordan.
Jordan allegedly drove the minor to Florida and met up with two females. One of those female suspects was identified as 19-year-old Molly Michele Jarrett.
Jordan and the two female suspects took the minor to an abandoned building around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday. According to authorities, Jordan beat the girl and bound her hands and feet with duct tape.
After the brutal attack, the teen was taken to an unspecified location where the suspects placed her under a tree and abandoned her.
Around 6:15 a.m. on Saturday, a nearby resident noticed the minor and called authorities. When law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, they found the teen with her hands still bound behind her back.
The minor was rushed to a local hospital, where she is expected to recover from the injuries she sustained as a result of the beating.
Authorities apprehended both Jordan and Jarrett.
At the time of her arrest, Jarrett appeared to be in costume as the DC Comics superhero Raven.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jordan faces charges of robbery, false imprisonment, tampering with a victim, and battery.
Jarrett was charged with principal in the first degree to robbery, principal in the first degree to false imprisonment, principal in the first degree to tampering with a victim, and principal in the first degree to battery.
The suspects are currently being held in the Houston County Jail but will be transferred to Jackson County, where they are expected to appear in court this week.
A spokesperson told Fox News they could not reveal the victim’s age; however, they stated that she was a teenager under 18. Additionally, the spokesperson could not speak to the circumstances of the minor meeting with Jordan or whether she knew any of the suspects before the Friday kidnapping.
