Newark police are looking for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run collision Wednesday night that left one pedestrian dead.
At around 2 a.m., officers went to the scene and found the 29-year-old Fremont man lying in the roadway of Central Avenue near California Street. Paramedics rendered aid, but the man died of his injuries.
Police believe the man was struck by a vehicle westbound on Central Avenue. The vehicle left the scene before officers arrived.
