A woman died last week following a traffic collision on state route 17 near the Blossom Hill exit in San Jose, according to California Highway Patrol.
The 81-year old victim, whose identification is pending notification of next of kin, was a passenger in a 2017 Ford E450 truck traveling southbound on SR-17 on Oct. 24. The driver made an unsafe turn during an attempted lane change when it collided with the left rear of a 2013 Toyota Prius, CHP says. The Ford then lost control and crossed all lanes to the right before colliding with multiple trees.
The victim was transported to local hospital where she remained for two days before ultimately dying from her injuries on Oct. 26, CHP says.
There were no signs of impairment on the scene. No other major injuries were reported in the crash.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
