The icing on the cake of any automotive build is a proper paint job, and “Pearl Passion” was the perfect color pick for our eye candy today. This brilliant hue comes from House of Kolor in Warrensville Heights, Ohio. Founded in 1956, House of Kolor is considered the world’s oldest custom paint brand and has become is a well-known name in the hot rod community.

This attention-grabbing coupe has extreme aerodynamics and looks like it’s ready to slice through the wind. Its exterior architecture showcases a fiberglass body from Oze Rod Shop of St. Benoit, Quebec that sits on a powder coated frame and features suicide doors, shaved door handles, and a removable color-matched hardtop.

Curb appeal is further enhanced by a dropped suspension courtesy of a remote-controlled RideTech Pro Shockwave air system, a set of Billet Specialties polished-aluminum wheels, and the magnificent Pearl Passion finish that accentuates the smooth silhouette.

Moving into the cabin, we see a pair of custom two-tone leather bucket seats with “37” embossed logos, a Flaming Ricer steering column, a Vintage Air Conditioning system, Classis Instruments gauges, and a Pioneer touch-screen audio system. Much like the 1933 Ford hot rod that I selected as my Pick of the Day in early October, this Ford is a turn-key show car that requires nothing more than a destination and tank of gas to start enjoying it. Modern conveniences like power windows, a power trunk release, and power steering make it a comfortable cruiser.

Thankfully, there is plenty of “go” to accompany all the “show” that this hot rod conveys. Under the hood, a 454cid Chevrolet LS6 provides the grunt, and a 4L60E automatic transmission puts the wheels in motion through a 3.70-geared rear end. Performance upgrades for the include Street Performance pulleys and a Flowmaster dual exhaust system with electric cutouts. With a list of powertrain credentials like that, this Ford probably sounds just as good as it looks going down the road.

By the way, the comprehensive House of Kolor catalog (or should we spell it “katalog”?) may give you some ideas on a shade to use for your next custom project car.

The seller is asking $85,000 or best offer for this eye-catching purple roadster.
