Winter is fast upon us, and that means big, bulky coats. Not to mention snow pants and other things that make belt line carry a little more difficult. For this reason, some, like me, prefer to shoulder carry for easier access and unhindered winter bundling. Not to mention, a good shoulder holster, like the Mayhem from Versacarry, doubles as a comfortable makeshift suspender. But enough old people talk.
The Versacarry Mayhem Shoulder Holster
Starting on a base of vegetable-tanned buffalo leather, the Mayhem features wide, adjustable straps for extended comfort. Currently only available for right-handed shooters, it includes a holster on the left and a dual mag pouch on the right.
The custom-molded polymer front is mounted to a large leather back, keeping your firearm away from the body for additional comfort. Industrial-grade nylon thread also ensures that your shoulder holster will withstand the test of time.
The polymer front is optics compatible and also includes a suppressor height front sight channel. Similarly, the holster has an open bottom to accommodate threaded barrels. A thumb strap coupled with adjustable retention screw help to secure your firearm during carry.
Like the pistol holster, the dual mag pouch also features a custom-molded polymer front held in place via industrial-grade nylon thread. In addition, two adjustable retention screws hold your magazines securely in place during activity.
The two sides of the holster are held in place via snappable belt loops that fit a 1.5-inch-wide belt.
The Mayhem is currently compatible with the following models:
Editor’s Note:
I recently saw the Mayhem Shoulder Holster at the Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous and was very impressed with it. The construction was solid and very comfortable. Likewise, adjusting it looked easy, with the use of a simple Phillips head screwdriver. Likewise, the belt strap has a sliding adjustor for dialing in the fit to keep it snug.
Unfortunately, while I was there, I inquired about the availability of the Mayhem for the Springfield Hellcat Pro and Versacarry does not have it for that model yet. However, he said that he would inquire about it when he got back to the shop. It is entirely possible that we may see compatibility with the Hellcat Pro soon. Fingers crossed.
