The Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority is accepting applications for its  Urban Grant Program. This competitive grant program, funded by Measure Q and Measure T, addresses the needs of urban communities, including areas that currently have limited access to preserves and parks.

The program is expected to provide a total of $1.5 million to projects that bring nature to urban residents, allocated roughly evenly between two types of grant awards.

Program projects include classes, trainings, curriculum-building, special events, program development and other community services. The authority expects to award 11-15 anticipated program grants. Applications for program project grants are due Feb. 9, 2023.

Capital projects include the planning and/or implementation of long-lasting improvements such as natural or built construction, restoration or enhancement. The authority anticipates awarding four to six capital grants. Applications for capital project grants are due Feb. 23, 2023.
