Bradley Beal has exited the NBA’s healthy and safety protocols but missed the Washington Wizards‘ preseason game at Charlotte on Monday night with a non-COVID illness, according to the team.
He is listed as day-to-day with the illness.
Kristaps Porzingis suffered a left ankle sprain in Monday’s 116-107 win and was ruled out at halftime. Coach Wes Unseld Jr. said after the gam the injury is “nothing severe” and that the team was being precautious.
Beal played in one of Washington’s two exhibition games in Japan against the Golden State Warriors. The Wizards have their final preseason game Friday against the New York Knicks.
Washington opens the regular season at Indiana on Oct. 19.
