A homeless man who was riding a bicycle died early Sunday morning after he was hit by two vehicles — one of which fled the scene, according to the San Jose Police Department.
The man, whose name has not been released, was hit about 12:40 a.m. near the intersection of Senter and Story roads, near the Happy Hollow Park and Zoo, San Jose police said.
Police did not release any information about the vehicle that fled. The driver of the second vehicle stayed and cooperated with investigators, police said in a tweet.
The man is the 54th person to die in a traffic crash so far this year in San Jose. Those fatalities happened across 52 traffic collisions.
Anyone with information about the crash can contact Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at 408-947-7867 or at svcrimestoppers.org.
