OAKLAND — One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting on Friday evening in East Oakland, authorities said.

Police responded to the 1600 block of 45th Avenue near Bond Street at around 9:56 p.m. to a report of gunfire and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. They were both taken to a hospital, where one of the men, a 33-year-old, was pronounced dead.

A 26-year-old man wounded in the shooting was in stable condition, authorities said. Police have not said how the men knew each and have not released a motive in the shooting. No arrests have made.

The identity of the man killed was not released pending confirmation and notification of his next of kin.

The slaying was the 102nd homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time, detectives had investigated 109 homicides. Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the shooting.
