There are Mustangs, and then there is this pre-production 17,077-mile 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. Power comes from a supercharged 662-horsepower 5.8-liter “Trinity” V8 backed by a 6-speed manual transmission. The 2013 model year marked the 20th Anniversary of the SVT Group, so Ford aimed to create the fastest and most powerful production vehicle for 2013, plus the ability to reach 200 mph.
Once the final specifications for the production cars had been achieved, there no longer was a need for this pre-production Mustang and in 2014 it was auctioned with just 3,700 miles. Interestingly, this Mustang Shelby GT500 was built in February 2012, several months prior to the actual 2013 model year production.
