OAKLAND — A man was shot to death early Tuesday in the the city’s Glenview neighborhood, police said.

The fatal shooting happened about 4:05 a.m. in the 4000 block of Everett Avenue. Police said the victim was a man who was 60.

Police pronounced him dead at the scene. Authorities did not identify him immediately.

Few other details were released. Police said investigators did not yet have a motive for the shooting, and they did not announce any arrests.

The homicide is the 101st investigated by Oakland police this year. The California Highway Patrol also has investigated five homicides on freeways within city limits.

A year ago on Oct 4, Oakland police had investigated 106 homicides.
