Bridge to victory

Sunnyvale native Michael Rosenberg claimed a victory this summer at the North American Bridge Championship, hosted by the American Contract Bridge League.

Rosenberg won the Roth Open Swiss event with his teammates: team captain Laurence Lebowitz; brothers Zachary Grossack and Adam Grossack of Newton, Mass.; Dennis Bilde of Aarhus, Denmark; and Agustin Madala of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The team also won in the spring North American Bridge Championship in Reno, Nevada, in the Jacoby Open Swiss Teams event.

The summer championship was held in Providence, RI, with more than more than 3,300 participants from around the world and 7,500 tables of play over the course of the tournament.

The American Contract Bridge League hosts three championships per year across the United States and Canada, bringing together bridge players of all skill levels. Founded in 1937, the league is the largest bridge organization in North America, with 145,000 members.
