A 33-year-old San Francisco man was fatally shot Saturday evening at Concordia Park in East Oakland.
The man was killed when gunfire erupted about 6:05 p.m. Saturday in the park near Camden Street and 63rd Avenue, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting.
Other people were at the park when the shots rang out, though no other injuries were reported.
Investigators found multiple shell casings at the park, authorities said. A motive for the shooting remains unclear, and no arrests have been announced.
The man’s name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The killing marks the 95th death investigated as a homicide this year by Oakland police. At this same time last year, Oakland police had investigated 100 homicides. The California Highway Patrol has also investigated five homicides on freeways in the city this year.
