Pittsburg had the crowd, the band and all the big-game vibes Friday night against Folsom.
But the Pirates broke down on special teams, threw too many interceptions and lost the Northern California showdown 23-15.
Menlo-Atherton wasn’t even those close in its game against Del Oro-Loomis. The Bears were no match for quarterback Caden Pinnick as they fell on the road 42-13.
De La Salle, meanwhile, survived in San Diego to edge Cathedral, setting up another big game next Friday at home against Folsom.
