A magnitude 2.9 earthquake early Thursday in Berkeley was felt from the Carquinez Strait to the Peninsula, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The quake, at 2:41 a.m., was centered at the northeast corner of the Claremont Hotel property.
Reports to the USGS Did You Feel It website came from a 20-mile radius, from Martinez to Pacifica.
