The chief officer of diversity, equity, and inclusion at the education wing of the Department of Defense has recently come under fire after Fox News uncovered a trail of social media posts and children’s books that disparage white people.

Kelisa Wing, a self-described “woke administrator” who oversees the K-12 curriculum offered to DoD dependents, allegedly wrote a series of anti-white messages in various social media fora, dating back to at least June 2020.

“I’m so exhausted at these white folx in these [professional development] sessions,” Wing allegedly wrote at the time.

“This lady actually had the CAUdacity to say that black people can be racist too,” the post continued. “….I had to stop the session and give Karen the BUSINESS…we are not the majority, we don’t have power.”

“CAUdacity,” a combination of “Caucasian” and “audacity,” is a racially charged term used to express frustration about white people and their supposedly “shameless displays” of privilege and racism, according to Dictionary.com.

Wing’s other anti-white posts on Twitter and elsewhere include:

  • “being antiracist means being active against racism… you will NEVER arrive… stop centering this on whiteness.”
  • “I am exhausted by 99% of the white men in education and 95% of the white women. Where can I get a break from white nonsense for a while?”
  • “racism is ingrained in the very fabric of our country.”

In addition to her troubling posts, Wing co-authored several children’s books with anti-white themes but packaged as anti-racism.

The book “What Is White Privilege?”, which Wing co-wrote, claims: “White privilege hurts a lot of people. If you are White you might feel bad about hurting others or you might feel afraid to lose this privilege.”

The book also instructs students to “unpack” their “backpack” of privilege and consider the ways that they have benefitted from so-called privilege, which the book compares to “extra money in your pocket that you didn’t earn.”

She also co-wrote “What Is Black Lives Matter?”, “What Is Anti-Racism?”, and “What Does It Mean to Defund the Police?”, all aimed at children.

When these and other racial books and posts were made public, Wing made her social media accounts private and did not respond to requests for comment. The DOD likewise did not respond for comment when asked.

Wing, who served in the Army for an unspecified length of time, was promoted to her position at the Department of Defense in December 2021.
