Friendship Across Divides

Saratoga Federated Church is hosting Nevada legislator and National Judicial College Prof. Jill Tolles, who will teach tools for conflict resolution and active listening.

The event, set for Saturday, Sept. 24, 9:30 a.m-12:30 p.m., is intended for attendees to learn tools and strategies to bridge conflict in politics, religion, family and culture. Tolles’ presentation will be followed by a four-person panel with real-life experience in resolving conflict in these areas.

LVW forums

Candidates for Santa Clara County Sheriff in the Nov. 8 general election will face off at a Sept. 21 virtual candidate forums presented by the League of Women Voters (LWV). Attendees can watch candidates on Zoom as they answer questions from voters posed by a league moderator.

The forum with sheriff candidates Kevin Jensen and Robert Jonsen is set for 6 p.m.

A forum with candidates for State Assembly District 28 is set for Thursday, Sept. 29, 7 p.m. Liz Lawler and Gail Pellerin are vying for the seat currently occupied by Evan Low, whose district encompasses Campbell, Saratoga and Los Gatos.
