A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Thursday morning on Highway 92 near Crystal Springs Reservoir.
The crash was reported at 4:45 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said. Just west of the reservoir, the westbound motorcycle went off the roadway and down a slope, and then caught fire. No other vehicles were known to have been involved.
As of 5:30 a.m., traffic on Highway 92 was down to one lane in the area of Old Cañada Road. The CHP had no estimated time of reopening.
