Britney Spears’ ex-husband is in a Napa County jail in a case involving a stolen bracelet.
Jason Alexander, 40, was brought to Napa on Tuesday after finishing a jail sentence in Ventura County.
The Napa County arrest warrant, from 2016, alleges grand theft and buying/receiving of stolen property. Alexander is accused of stealing a $2,000 bracelet from an American Canyon home where he was staying in 2015 and pawning it for $180 at a Vallejo pawnshop.
The arrest affidavit said he admitted to the theft and offered to return the bracelet — but he then claimed he couldn’t get it back.
Alexander was married to Spears for barely two days in 2004. The pair — childhood friends from Louisiana — were wed at a Las Vegas wedding chapel, and the marriage was annulled almost immediately.
His Ventura County jail time relates to his uninvited presence at Spears’ wedding in June of this year. He pleaded guilty this week to trespassing and battery and was sentenced to the time he had served.
He is set to be arraigned Wednesday in Napa. The charges are felonies, and bail is expected to be $20,000.
