OAKLAND — Two men were shot to death Friday in East Oakland, one while he was driving, authorities said.
The killings do not appear to the related, authorities said.
Neither man’s name has been released yet.
About 7:10 p.m. Friday, a 33-year-old man was found fatally shot inside his vehicle, which had crashed into a wall at an apartment complex in the 900 block of 82nd Avenue. Police believe he was shot while driving in the area before crashing.
A motive for the shooting has not yet been released. No arrests have been announced.
About 12:17 p.m. Friday, a 50-year-old man was found fatally shot in the 9700 block of B Street.
Police have not yet determined a motive for the killing. No arrests have been made.
With the two killings, Oakland police have now investigated 66 homicides in the city this year. The California Highway Patrol has also investigated four homicides on Oakland freeways. Last year at this time, Oakland police had investigated 75 homicides in the city.
