CAMPBELL — Police warned neighbors along Fewtrell Drive that they might be hearing an explosion as officers safely detonated a live grenade that was found at a resident’s home Thursday afternoon.
Police tweeted at about 3:23 p.m. that they responded to a call about a grenade found at the home, off South Bascom Drive. Police didn’t say if the grenade was found in the house or in the yard or how it ended up there.

With the help of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad, police determined that they grenade was live and needed to be safely detonated. Police said there was no danger to the public
