RICHMOND – A pedestrian was followed by a driver and shot to death Thursday night in Richmond, police said.
Richmond police did not release many details about the city’s 12th homicide of the year. The victim, a man in his 20s, was not identified.
The victim was walking on West Cutting Boulevard when a person in a vehicle began to follow him, said Richmond police Lt. Matt Stonebraker. The victim eventually turned onto South 49th Street and the driver followed.
“We don’t have any description of the vehicle,” Stonebraker said.
Stonebraker said the victim and the driver eventually exchanged words. Moments later, shots were fired.
The victim was hit more than once, Stonebraker said. He died at the scene.
Police are asking anyone with additional information about the homicide to call 510-233-1214.
