OAKLAND — One man died and another man was hospitalized in critical condition after a shooting Monday in an East Oakland neighborhood, authorities said.

Around 6:55 p.m., officers responded to 90th Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard for a report of a possible shooting, a police officer said in a statement late Monday.

When officers arrived, they found a Vallejo man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Soon after, officers learned of an Oakland man, also wounded by gunshots, who managed to walk into a hospital after getting a ride.

Despite care providers’ efforts, that man was later pronounced dead, and his identity was not available pending next-of-kin notification through the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office coroner’s bureau. The Vallejo man was later listed in critical condition, police said.

Investigators released no details about possible shooting suspects or associated vehicles, but did say they believed the shooting first happened in the 8600 block of International Boulevard.

For information leading to the arrest of a suspect, police are offering up to $15,000 in the shooting. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers of Oakland at 510-777-8572.
