OAKLAND — A man was shot Monday evening in an East Oakland neighborhood, authorities said.
Around 8:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of ShotSpotter activity near the 3000 block of School Street by Pleitner Avenue about a block east of Curt Flood Field.
When officers arrived minutes later in the 3000 block of School, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his stomach, and provided treatment until paramedics and Oakland Fire Department firefighters arrived.
The man was taken to a hospital. His condition was not immediately available Monday night.
Officers canvassed the area after blocking off traffic lanes and found multiple casings from at least two firearms. Police did not provide descriptions of any suspect or associated vehicle.
For information leading to the arrest of a suspect, police are offering up to $5,000 in the shooting.
