The Holosun SCS-MOS (Solar Charging Sight) takes its Solar Failsafe to the next level with full solar charging. As a result, you don’t need to change your battery every six months or have to worry about an unexpectedly dead optic when you need it most.
The Holosun SCS-MOS Reflex Sight
Constructed of grade 5 Titanium the body of the SCS-MOS features an IP67 waterproof rating. As a result, the rugged optic can continue to operate under inclement conditions without issue. The design of the housing itself matches the form and style of the Glock MOS platform. This even includes serrations that match factory Glock slide cocking serrations.
The low-profile deck allows you to continue to co-witness with standard Glock iron sights while installed. Featuring a coated and anti-reflective 0.77×0.58 window, the SCS-MOS uses Holosun’s MRS (Multi-Reticle System) with Super Green (540nm) LED technology. As a result, users can select between a 2 MOA dot only, 32 MOA circle only, or 32 MOA circle with 2 MOA dot, depending on operational needs.
Zeroing the reticle is achieved via a 30+/- MOA travel adjustment with 1 MOA click adjustment. Adjustment points for windage and elevation are found on the top and side of the optic housing. Additionally, the SCS-MOS is parallax-free and features unlimited eye relief for optimal target acquisition.
The SCS-MOS features self-regulating reticle brightness settings, adjusting to the intensity of ambient light, which can be overridden if desired. When activated, this feature helps reduce battery use for long lasting life between charges. However, where the SCS-MOS shines is in its solar rechargeable battery.
Bosting 20,000 hours of life in a worst-case scenario, the battery recharges every time it is in the sun. As a result, the optic can operate indefinitely with the correct lighting requirement. Likewise, a battery life indicator helps ensure that you always know how much charge you have left.
The SCS-MOS is currently only available for Glock MOS.

I personally like anything that can be charged using solar power, it’s a great way to ensure things stay operating during use. However, with the lack of any other means of charging it, make sure to monitor it periodically. You would not want it to lose its charge at an inopportune time.
However, the best way to make sure it stays charged is to hit the range often. As long as you maintain exposure to the sun, you shouldn’t have to worry about it. And this will push you to practice regularly, which is a good thing in itself.
