OAKLAND — A woman and a man were found shot to death early Monday inside  their Adams Point home, authorities said.

Police are in the process of determining whether the deaths are a homicide and suicide or a double homicide, authorities said.

The names of the two killed, a 25-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man, have not been released yet.  Autopsies for the two are pending.

The couple was  found just after 12 a.m. Monday inside their home in the 300 block of Perkins Street near Van Buren Avenue.

Authorities said they were in a relationship and had lived together at  the home about a year.

They were both found dead after relatives became concerned because they had not heard from the couple all day Sunday and went to the residence, police said.  When the relatives could not gain entry police were called and the couple was found after officers forced their way inside.

Anyone with information about the deaths is asked to call homicide investigators at 510-238-3821.
