Emerging artists sought

The Rotary Club of San Jose is putting out a call for artists to apply for the 10th Annual Leigh Weimers Emerging Artist Award. The deadline to apply is July 15.

Artists in all genres can apply for this award, created in honor of Weimers, the late Mercury News columnist. Previous awards have ranged from $1,000 to $5,000 cash prizes, and up to four winners will be invited to show their work and/or speak at a lunch meeting of one of the world’s 10 largest Rotary Clubs.

Eligible artists must be 18 or older and residents of Santa Clara County. To apply, visit https://www.weimersawards.com/award-recipients.
