The Zanders Exclusive DRD Tactical Sub-6 Rifles
Featuring aluminum construction with a black hard coat anodized finish, the Sub-6 is super lightweight and manageable. However, the placement of steel in all the right places ensures solid and rugged construction. For example, the barrel extension utilizes an 8-bolt 2-stake trunnion system for increased durability and reduced wear.
The rail, which is also screwed to the trunnion system, features a Picatinny rail running the entire length of the top. As a result, you have ample room for optics and other accessories. In addition, MLOK slots surround the rail for additional options.
Chambered in 5.56, the Sub-6 operates on a proprietary direct impingement gas piston operating system. Correspondingly, DRD’s proprietary 5-position adjustable gas block features an oversized knob, allowing for tool-free adjustment, so you can dial it in on the go. Additionally, the bolt, with a dovetailed gas key, incorporates rail slots, eliminating BCG (bolt carrier group) tilt and reducing friction.
The Sub-6 features a Magpul Zhukov-S 5-position folding buttstock. Additionally, due to the lack of a buffer tube, you can still fire the Sub-6 with the stock folded. Likewise, an integrated Picatinny rail on the butt plate allows for vertical adjustment of the stock. The non-reciprocating charging handle is set up for right-hand use only, so left-handed shooters will need to adapt.
Like the gas block adjustment, disassembly of the Sub-6 doesn’t require any tools. However, a tension screw under the grip requires a screwdriver to tighten the upper and lower fit for reduced wobble.
The Sub-6 is a Zanders exclusive and is currently only available in black. But Blue, Ghost, and Sandstone colors are coming in the following months.
