Sensational Girl Scout
Saratoga resident Ashlyn O’Brien was recently presented with the highest award in Girl Scouting for a project she completed for a Los Gatos-based nonprofit.
Ashlyn earned the Girl Scout Gold Award for creating an underwater sensory wall for clients of Shining Stars, which works with families of special needs children. The sensory wall uses color, texture and dimension to help children stimulate all of their senses and help with sensory development, which can help them with social and emotional development.
Ashlyn made an instruction book for parents and caregivers to create their own sensory boards at home.
