OAKLAND — Two men were hospitalized after separate shootings Monday in East Oakland neighborhoods, authorities said.
Around 3:40 p.m., police responded to reports of ShotSpotter activity in the 7700 block of MacArthur Boulevard in the city’s Eastmont Hills neighborhood.
When officers arrived they found a man near 76th and Ney avenues who had been shot in an arm. He was conscious and talking, and paramedics took him to a hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately available Monday afternoon.
Other officers who responded to the scene began blocking off nearby streets, and recovered casings and found a struck vehicle in the 2800 block of 76th Avenue just north of MacArthur.
Police did not initially provide details about any associated suspect or vehicle.
Shortly after 8:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of a possible shooting in the 2200 block of 106th Avenue in the city’s Las Palmas neighborhood.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was taken to an area hospital, where he was later listed in stable condition.
