Let’s face it, ammunition isn’t getting any cheaper anytime soon. But range time is still important, not to mention a great way to unwind. For this reason, Colt expands its King Cobra lineup with a new target .22 LR pistol. Now you can enjoy a day at the range or some small game hunting with the familiar King Cobra platform, without springing for the more expensive .357 ammo.

The Colt King Cobra Target .22 LR

Featuring a forged stainless-steel frame, the King Cobra Target 22 LR is solid and meant to be shot—a lot. Correspondingly, Colt saw fit to include a 10-round cylinder, so you can shoot a lot between reloads.

Available in either a 4-inch or 6-inch model, the one-piece stainless barrel promotes improved accuracy. Likewise, the King Cobra features a 1:16RH twist, optimal for .22 LR. Additionally, an adjustable rear sight couples with a fiber optic front sight for fast target acquisition in low light conditions.

Providing the interface between flesh and steel are Hogue overmolded rubber grips. The grips include finger grooves for an improved purchase and enhanced retention. Not to mention, the rubber grips also provide additional comfort while firing.

“We are very excited to debut this new baby snake to our customers at NRA Annual Meetings,” said Justin Baldini, VP of Product Strategy, Colt CZ-USA. “Shooting .22 LR is such an important part of shooting sports. It’s where we come to learn as a beginner; and where we return as seasoned shooters to cost-effectively enjoy more time at the range. We’re confident that new and old Colt fans will love what we’ve done with the new King Cobra 22 LR.”
