SIG Sauer is a name synonymous with quality you can trust. There is a reason that law enforcement and military the world over trust SIG with their lives. But the company doesn’t stop with dependable firearms, it also excels at hard use optics as well. Following the popularity of the compact ROMEOZero reflex sight, SIG Sauer made the optic better compatible with full-size pistols, with the ROMEOZero-PRO.
The SIG Sauer ROMEOZero-PRO
Constructed of carbon-infused WeaponsGrade ultralight polymer, the housing provides increased shock and drop protection. Likewise, the optic features a reinforced lens protection area. As a result, the optic can withstand a drop onto concrete, with a firearm attached, from over 6 feet. However, if you plan for serious hard use, an included hardened steel shroud protects it even further.
The rear surfaces of the optic feature anti-reflection grooves molded in, to prevent distraction. Similarly, the sides feature stippling to fit nicely with the aesthetics of a stippled pistol grip. The rear of the sight includes a backup rear sight notch for co-witness with the front sight. Additionally, the rear sight notch includes Grade A Swiss SuperLuminova pigment for low-light scenarios.
The 30mm aspherical lens is made of scratch-resistant glass for unmatched clarity and a distortion-free sight picture. It’s available in your choice of 3 MOA, 10 MOA, or the versatile 2 MOA dot with 32 MOA circle.
In addition, the red dot features 8 daylight brightness settings. New T.A.P. (Touch-Activated Programming) technology allows the user to adjust brightness settings with just a tap on the optic.
Operating on one CR1632 battery, the ROMEOZero-PRO provides 20,000 hours of run time. The ROMEOZero-PRO fits the ROMEO2/Pro Mounting Footprint.
Editor’s Note:
I have the original ROMEO and Juliet optic and magnifier on my AR and have been nothing but impressed. I purchased it based on the low price and a video I saw of a tester brutalizing it and it still maintained zero. In short, he froze it, shot it with a shotgun, threw it as high as he could and let it drop, etc. It continued to work and held zero.
I haven’t done anything crazy with mine, but I am confident it can take it, after watching what that reviewer did to his.
