SAN JOSE — Authorities on Monday afternoon were investigating San Jose’s third shooting in as many days.
The most recent shooting was reported at 3:30 p.m. inside the Hillview Branch Library at 1600 Hopkins Drive, according to the San Jose Police Department. One adult male victim was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening.
The shooting was gang-related, said Officer Steve Aponte. Two suspects are being sought by police.
Police said traffic in the area will be impacted as they conduct an investigation into the shooting.
The shooting followed two others Saturday and Sunday, both of which resulted in deaths.
A man was fatally shot at 7:31 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Monterey Road and Rancho Drive. Vu Thai, 38, of San Jose, was arrested in connection with the shooting.
And at 3:35 a.m. Sunday, 24-year-old Manuel Isaac Huizar Cornjeo was shot and killed at the 24-hour Safeway at 1530 Hamilton Ave., where he regularly worked the overnight shift, according to his brother. Police have not announced any arrests in that case.
