DANVILLE — A 20-year-old Concord resident was in county jail after his arrest on suspicion of multiple charges in connection with a weekend shooting outside a downtown eatery, authorities said.

In a statement Sunday, police said officers responded at 1:20 a.m. Sunday to reports of the shooting outside Kick N Mule Bar N Kitchen, 340 Hartz. Ave., and found no gunshot victims.

Several minutes later, officers detained a man after learning that he had fired a gun into the ground and toward parked vehicles and closed businesses shortly after a fight.

The man was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a loaded firearm, resisting arrest and shooting a firearm in a grossly negligent manner. Officers also learned the man had a warrant for his arrest for a case involving eight counts of burglary and conspiracy, police said.

He was booked into Martinez county jail and held on $395,000 bail, according to a county records check Sunday night.
