A Pittsburg resident stole a marked Oakland Police Department patrol car and led officers on a chase before crashing into a pole and getting arrested Friday evening, authorities said.
The female suspect stole the vehicle around 8 p.m. on the 500 block of Lake Park Avenue, according to the Oakland Police Department.
Officers with OPD and the California Highway Patrol pursued the vehicle into Vallejo. The driver eventually hit a pole and was arrested by the Vallejo Police Department, officials said.
After the crash, the patrol car caught on fire and was extinguished by Vallejo officers. No officers were injured.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department’s felony assault unit at (510) 238-3426.
