Last year Mossberg released the MC2c following the success of its smaller MC1sc, offering a larger variant. As expected, the larger capacity received much fanfare. So, logically, there was only one direction left to take it. As a result, the release of the new MC2c Optic-Ready from Mossberg expands the pistol’s optics capabilities and adds one more round of 9mm.
The Mossberg MC2c Optic-Ready
Constructed of a glass-reinforced polymer, the MC2c is a lightweight option that can withstand harsh environments. Likewise, the stainless-steel slide features a black DLC (Diamond-Like Coating) for increased chemical resistance.
The grip on the MC2c features an 18-degree angle, for a natural aim similar to the 1911. Likewise, the palm swell and aggressive texturing increase retention while firing. However, the new MC2c optic-ready also increased its capacity by one round without sacrificing its small size and grip width.
With the two included magazines you now get 14+1 with the flush fit and 16+1 with the extended mag. But there is also a 10-round magazine option for prohibitive states. Although the capacity has been increased, the slim 1.10-inch profile is still in the sweet spot for concealed carry.
Also new to the MC2c is the Optic-Ready slide with an optic cut for the Shield RMS footprint, providing co-witness with compatible optics. Along with the optic-ready compatibility, the MC2c ships standard with white 3-dot sites but is also available with Truglo Tritium Pro night sights.
Every MC2c features a trigger blade safety but an optional ambidextrous cross-bolt manual safety is available as well. In addition, the MC2c includes Mossberg’s STS (Safe Takedown System), allowing the pistol to be disassembled for cleaning, without pulling the trigger.
