A very strange and perhaps even frightening thing happened on “The View” recently as Sunny Hostin and co-hosts discussed NPR’s new employee “snitch hotline”: Joy Behar and Ana Navarro actually made sense.
On “The Rubin Report” Tuesday, BlazeTV host Dave Rubin shared a clip of “The View’s” co-hosts reacting to an NPR memo informing staff of an anonymous tip line for employees to report maskless colleagues to HR.
“NPR doesn’t want the COVID to spread, so they’re telling their people, ‘if your fellow employee is sitting there without a mask, I want to hear about it. Report it to HR.’ I would never do that,” Behar says in the clip. “I’m Italian. We don’t snitch,” she added.
Sunny Hostin chimed in, shocking her co-hosts by calling NPR’s authoritarian snitch culture “a good thing.”
“I just think, you have this mechanism where you can just call and snitch and protect yourself, as opposed to taking it on yourself,” Hostin argued.
“How do you know it’s not somebody just snitching on somebody they don’t like?” Navarro asked.
“I can’t believe it. Joy Behar and … Ana Navarro actually made some sense,” Dave said, responding to the clip.
“But now let’s do Sunny Hostin, who is a complete idiot,” he continued. “She seems to think that people should snitch on each other at work. And that it is your responsibility to make sure that other people take medical precautions that you see fit, not just that you should be responsible for yourself. So, if you want to take whatever precautions you want and if you want to wear a mask and if you want to wrap your head in Saran Wrap and put a Ziploc bag on and industrial strength tape around it and all that stuff, that’s your position; but … you should be making sure that other people who don’t do the things that you want them to do are potentially fired.”
