CONTRA COSTA COUNTY — Firefighters contained a grass fire in hills south of Tassajara on Monday afternoon, authorities said.
The fire began around 2:50 p.m., with reports of flames seen from Camino Tassajara and Highland Road.
Alameda County Fire Department, San Ramon Valley Fire Department and Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters responded alongside CalFire resources to battle the fire.
The blaze was initially estimated at about 25 to 30 acres in size with a moderate rate of spread, under clear skies with temperatures in the mid-80s and light northwest winds gusting to 10 to 13 mph.
The fire was fully contained shortly after 6:15 p.m., and held in size to 91.2 acres, according to a CalFire social-media post.
There were no reported threats to structures or reports of injuries, and a cause was under investigation.
