SnapSafe In-Wall Safes
Constructed of heavy-duty 16-gauge steel, the In-Wall safes feature an extra-thick 8-gauge steel door to prevent unauthorized access. The innovative latch mechanism ensures maximum interior space, while the hidden hinge design prevents prying or cutting attacks.
The safes feature a 16-inch design, which fits perfectly between the studs in your wall. Pre-drilled holes allow the safe to lag tight to the frame using the included bolts. When installed, the safes fit flush with the wall allowing you to conceal them behind pictures or other household objects.
The interior includes removable shelves so you can customize the layout to your specific needs. Likewise, a padded floor prevents damage to more delicate items, while magnetic hooks accommodate jewelry and keys. In addition, a magnetic document holder can be attached to the door, keeping documents easily accessible.
The battery-powered electronic keypad runs on 4 AA batteries and releases the spring-assisted door. Audio and LED warnings indicate when the batteries are getting low, so you don’t lose power. However, in the event you don’t change them soon enough, a mechanical barrel key is provided as a backup.
The safes are available in two sizes, regular and tall. The tall version is tall enough to fit an AR-15 upright when all shelves are removed.
Editor’s Note:
An in-wall mountable safe can be a great option to keep next to the door for instant access in the event of a forced entry. However, the 4-inch depth does not leave much space for a pistol, other than leaning it against the back wall. Which runs the risk of it falling out unexpectedly. But there is a workaround.
Simply mount a high-power magnet to the back of the safe and stick your pistol to the magnet. This will prevent it from falling out when the safe is opened or it is accidentally hit it while accessing the contents of the safe.
