SAN MATEO COUNTY – A 35-year-old East Palo Alto man has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting two family members, police said.
Earlier this month, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation into the sexual assault of a minor in an unincorporated part of the county, Lt. Jacob Trickett said in a news release Friday.
Trickett said detectives learned the man began sexually molesting a family member when she was 3 years old, and the “illicit acts continued periodically for the next six years.”
Detectives also learned the man had sexually assaulted another family member and had used social media to make inappropriate sexual comments to another underage girl, Trickett said.
On Thursday, detectives obtained a no-bail felony warrant for the man’s arrest on three charges of child sexual assault, Trickett said. Detectives arrested the man in Burlingame and booked him into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City.
