Featuring a CNC machined stainless steel frame and barrel, the Switch-Gun is chambered in .22 Mag. Although .22 Mag packs quite a bit more power than a .22 LR, it remains a close-up last-ditch round. Not really something you are going to use to take out a bad guy at distance.
The frame folds into the large polymer grip, making it slightly smaller, albeit thicker, than a standard cell phone. Likewise, at 9-ounces loaded, it presents a small footprint in the pocket.
When folded, the grip completely encapsulates the trigger, preventing any kind of accidental discharge. However, depressing the button on the side of the grip automatically brings the firearm to bear, with an audible snap. It is very reminiscent of an out the side automatic knife.
Due to its unique design, the grip on the Switch-Gun is large enough to provide a firm purchase while firing. This is significant because the .22 Mag is a snappy little round. So, the large grip helps the shooter maintain solid control of the firearm while shooting.
The Switch-Gun is fired via a single action trigger. But the large hammer allows for fast cocking between shots. However, the .88-inch barrel length will compromise accuracy, making this a truly close quarters self-defense option.
