OAKLAND — The California Highway Patrol closed all lanes of Interstate 580 west of High Street after a police response to an unspecified incident Sunday, authorities said.
Shortly before 4 p.m., at least three vehicles were seen in westbound I-580 lanes at High, with traffic stopped behind them.
The CHP issued a Sig-alert at 4:10 p.m., saying that all westbound lanes were blocked and diverting traffic off the freeway onto MacArthur Boulevard and High Street. There was no estimated time of reopening, and Interstate 880 was recommended as an alternate route.
