EMERYVILLE — A 25-year-old man shot multiple times Saturday night was in stable condition Sunday, authorities said.

At 9:32 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to multiple 911 calls about a shooting at 64th Street and Market Drive.

Officers who arrived learned that witnesses had seen a group of people involved in a heated argument shortly before the shooting occurred. The suspect managed to flee in a vehicle.

Police have not said if the victim, who was taken to a hospital by a relative, was wounded by someone shooting from a vehicle or someone who confronted him on the street.

Police have not yet released a possible motive for the shooting and have not announced any arrests.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or who might have video surveillance to call Emeryville police Det. Jeremy McBroom at 510-596-3732 or e-mail jmcbroom@emeryville.org.
