Firefighters on Saturday afternoon were battling a four-alarm fire that broke at a port in Benicia, quickly engulfing a wooden dock and sending a massive black plume of smoke into the air.
The blaze, which was quickly elevated from a three to a four-alarm fire, broke out Saturday afternoon either at or near the Amports facility in Benicia, according to officials. Video footage shared on social media from the Benicia-Martinez Bridge show firefighters dousing the flames with water from both land and boats.

Firefighters from Benicia, Vallejo and Contra Costa County all have responded to the scene.
As of 3 p.m. Saturday, the Benicia Fire Department tweeted that there were no shelter-in-place orders issued for those in the city but that it might change if the direction of the wind changes.
