
SAN CARLOS – A 27-year-old Belmont man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in San Carlos, authorities said.
The stabbing was reported at 1:14 a.m. Thursday on the 700 block of Elm Street, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. The victim, identified as a 32-year-old man, was taken to an area hospital, where he remained in stable condition Friday.
Deputies identified Samuel Kankel as a suspect in the stabbing, the sheriff’s office said.
Kankel was arrested at 11 p.m. Thursday on the 1600 block of Sunnyslope Avenue in Belmont. He was later booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City on a charge of attempted murder.
