Terrific Bay Area vocalist Grace Leer made quite a showing on “American Idol,” finishing in the top 10 during season 18 of that popular TV talent competition back in 2020.
The Danville native was able to use that TV platform to help catch the attention of 19 Entertainment, which inked her to a recording contract, as well as earn a deal with mighty Red Light Management, which also represents such great acts as Phish, the Dandy Warhols, Herbie Hancock, Switchfoot, Larkin Poe and the Decemberists.
Leer has recently released her debut single — the fun country music number “Brought a Girl” — which fans can now stream through Spotify, Amazon Music and all the other usual suspects. There’s also a video for the song that can be seen on YouTube.
Last month, Leer embarked on her first-ever tour, opening for Kansas country music star Logan Mize on a 12-date Midwest trek.
She doesn’t have any hometown dates on the calendar at this point. But hopefully that will soon change and fans will get to catch Leer back in the Bay Area in the not-so-distant future.
