SUNNYVALE — A 21-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of robbing at least 11 convenience stores across Santa Clara County, according to authorities.

The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety said in a news release that the man is suspected of having committed nearly a dozen robberies since January, including two in Sunnyvale. He was captured on video surveillance footage during multiple armed robberies wearing similar clothing and holding a black handgun.

He was arrested about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday. After the arrest, detectives obtained a search warrant for the man’s home and car, and found clothing items that matched the ones worn during the robberies, police said. They also found a black BB handgun.

Sunnyvale police cited assistance from authorities in Los Gatos-Monte Sereno, Mountain View and Santa Clara on the case. It was not immediately clear if robberies in those cities were among those linked to the suspect.
