Designed in 2014, the CZ Scorpion EVO 3 quickly became one of the company’s most popular firearms. Fast forward to today and the Scorpion sees enhancements across the board. The CZ Scorpion 3+ Micro Pistol
Building on a fiber-reinforced polymer frame, the Scorpion 3+ is slimmed down to reduce the bulk. Also, the updated grip features a more ergonomic shape that better forms to the hand. The addition of texturing on the front, back, and sides also provides enhanced control. However, the biggest change to the grip is the ability to adjust it for reach to the trigger. The adjustment allows for approximately 1.5-inches of forward/rearward movement.
Another noticeable improvement is the placement of the ambidextrous mag release just forward of the trigger guard. This is a welcome change for those who are used to the AR platform. Likewise, the ambidextrous bolt catch sits in front of the trigger guard, just below the mag release, providing easy access. Similarly, the ambidextrous thumb safety keeps all the controls quickly accessible.
The improved upper receiver has been modified to allow for better options when attaching different accessories to the removable endcap, via a QD pocket. In addition, the enhanced four aperture aluminum sights allow for 1/3 co-witness with red dot optics.
Also, the M-LOK handguard is upgraded from aluminum to polymer. As a result, comes less heat transfer and enhanced comfort. Additionally, the reversible charging handle helps to keep the 3+ Micro Pistol ambidextrous. Housed within the upper is a 4.2-inch barrel with removable flash can, threaded 1/2×28 for use with a suppressor or other muzzle devices.
An updated magazine well provides extra room for larger or gloved hands on the handguard. While the new magazines feature a locking window on the side and are backward compatible with previous Scorpion models.
