VALLEJO — Police in Vallejo are investigating the city’s sixth homicide of the year, a woman found stabbed to death late Friday afternoon.
Police responded at 4:20 p.m. to a call about a deceased person in the area of Monterey and Tennessee streets.

On the scene, officers found the body of a woman suffering from at least one stab wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary details indicate the woman was homeless.

The woman’s identity, which was unknown at the time of the response by officers, is being withheld pending notification of relatives.

The motive and circumstances are under investigation.
